Q: Can you share a little about your background and what led you to Greene Giving?
A: I’ve always felt a strong pull toward helping others and being actively involved in my community, it’s something that’s been part of who I am for as long as I can remember. Throughout my education and personal experiences, I’ve looked for ways to make a meaningful impact, whether through volunteering, community service, or simply being a supportive presence for those around me. After graduating, I knew I wanted to begin my professional journey somewhere that aligned with my values and allowed me to contribute in a hands-on way. Greene Giving stood out to me as the perfect fit not only because of its mission, but because of the strong sense of community and collaboration it has. I was excited for the opportunity to work alongside people who truly care about making a difference in Greene County. I’m excited to bring a fresh perspective and new ideas to the table while continuing to learn and grow professionally.
Q: What drew you to this position and to the work of community philanthropy?
A: I graduated from the University of Dayton in May 2025 with a degree in Urban Sustainability. During my studies, I became interested in how grassroots efforts can spark meaningful, lasting change within communities. What really stood out to me is that the most impactful progress often comes from community members who are passionate, engaged, and ready to shape their future. That’s what drew me to this position at Greene Giving. I was inspired by the way the organization provides a platform for people to drive the change they want to see. I believe community philanthropy is one of the most powerful ways to support local visionaries and help bring their ideas to life. Being able to contribute to that kind of mission is both exciting and meaningful to me. As someone born and raised in Dayton, I’m really looking forward to getting to know Greene County better especially through the stories and dedication of the people who’ve helped shape it into the vibrant community it is today. I’m grateful for the opportunity to learn, grow, and support the work that makes this area thrive.
Q: What does a typical day look like in your new role?
A: A typical day at Greene Giving starts with a big cup of coffee and a team that’s always ready to hit the ground running! In my role, I support our community partners whether that’s through one-on-one conversations to map out next steps, or by creating marketing materials they can use for fundraising, events, or social media outreach. My day often involves coordinating logistics, developing communications, designing outreach materials, and following up individually to make sure everyone has what they need to succeed. One of my favorite parts of the role is building more personal connections with our components and donors acknowledging their hard work and helping thank donors for every contribution they make. I will also spend time gathering information and resources that can support our partners in growing their missions. Having started a nonprofit myself at 16, I understand how overwhelming it can be to juggle big goals with limited time and resources. That’s why I’m excited to be in a position where I can help others stay motivated, keep their momentum going, and ultimately reach the impact they’re striving for.
Q: How do you hope to connect with donors and partners in your new role?
A: I hope to connect with donors and partners through genuine, consistent communication whether in person, over the phone, or through digital channels. My goal is to build and strengthen relationships on behalf of Greene Giving while increasing awareness of our various funds and initiatives. I also look forward to personally thanking donors for their generosity and keeping them informed about the meaningful impact their contributions are making in our community.
Q: What are you most excited about in helping tell Greene Giving’s story?
A: I’m most excited to help share the incredible impact that comes out of Greene Giving’s doors each day. The work being done here truly strengthens Greene County by empowering individuals, families, and organizations to fulfill their missions and make a lasting difference. I look forward to shining a light on the stories and passions of those who give and those who benefit from it, helping others see just how unique and powerful Greene Giving’s model is. Greene Giving has been a driving force for progress in our region, turning every contribution into multiple opportunities for growth and positive change. I’m excited to help tell that story to show how every dollar, every donor, and every partnership contributes to a stronger, more connected Greene County.
Q: Are there any upcoming initiatives or projects you’re especially eager to work on?
A: I’m especially looking forward to connecting with donors and community partners at the upcoming appreciation luncheon in November. Events like this are such a meaningful way to celebrate the generosity and collaboration that make Greene Giving’s mission possible. I’m also eager to visit some of the sites and see firsthand the incredible work being done across our community. Seeing these projects in person will not only deepen my understanding of their impact but also help me share their stories more authentically and effectively on behalf of Greene Giving.
Q: What inspires you about Greene County or the communities we serve?
A: I’m truly inspired by the strong sense of connection and generosity that defines Greene County. I’ve heard time and again how close-knit the community is. Where everyone knows each other and is always ready to lend a hand. That genuine spirit of care and collaboration is something I deeply admire and can’t wait to be a part of. What stands out most to me is how community members support not only their friends and neighbors but also those they may not know personally. That kind of selfless giving and shared commitment to making a difference perfectly reflects the values that Greene Giving celebrates and uplifts every day.
Q: How do you like to spend your time outside of work?
A: Outside of work, I love spending time outdoors and with the people who mean the most to me. In the summer, you can usually find me floating on the lake with my family or enjoying the fresh air, whether that’s walking, running, paddleboarding, grilling, or sitting by a campfire. I also have a big passion for travel; studying abroad in Australia sparked a love for exploring new places and cultures that I still carry with me today. And of course, I always enjoy relaxing and spending time with friends whenever I can.
