Greene Giving is proud to support various community organizations through its Small Grants Program, which offers grants up to $1,000 to local nonprofits in Greene County for projects that enhance the community through equipment, infrastructure, and other long-term needs. This year, the foundation awarded a total of $8,864 to twelve organizations dedicated to enriching Greene County. These grants, some of which were announced during our annual luncheon, have helped groups across the region continue their invaluable work. Some of the organizations that received grants this year include Tecumseh Land Trust, Ellie’s Rainy Day Fund, Spring Valley Library, Friends of Fairborn Digital Academy, and Greene County FISH Food Pantry. Here’s a look at how some of this year’s recipients are using the funds to make a difference.
Greene County FISH Food Pantry
As food insecurity continues to impact working families, Greene County Fish Food Pantry has expanded its services to meet the growing need. Greene Giving’s grant, combined with other contributions, is helping the pantry add much-needed refrigerator and freezer space. This expansion will increase its capacity to provide nutritious food to more people in need, directly addressing the challenges many families face in affording regular meals.
Friends of Fairborn Digital Academy
Friends of Fairborn Digital Academy supports the Fairborn Digital Academy, an institution that provides flexible learning options for students aiming to complete their education at their own pace. Greene Giving’s grant was used to purchase graduation gowns and robes, ensuring that students have the necessary attire to celebrate their academic achievements in style. By funding these robes, Greene Giving helped honor the accomplishments of Fairborn Digital Academy students.
Wilberforce Neighborhood Community Center
Wilberforce Neighborhood Community Center is a cherished part of Wilberforce, providing a space for residents to gather, engage, and build community. With Greene Giving’s assistance, the center replaced its aging roof, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for future meetings and activities. This grant supports the center’s mission to foster connection and a sense of belonging among Wilberforce residents.
Continuing Community Support
Greene Giving looks forward to continuing its support of local organizations through meaningful grants. These funds help address vital community needs and contribute to initiatives that benefit Greene County residents directly. By supporting organizations dedicated to education, food security, conservation, and community building, Greene Giving reaffirms its commitment to enhancing quality of life across the county.
We are grateful for the incredible work our grant recipients do, and we are excited to see how they continue to impact Greene County.
