Meet Reese Monnin Greene Giving’s Newest Client Relations Manager

Please join us in welcoming Reese Monnin to Greene Giving as our Client Relations Manager! A Xenia native with a background in marketing and nonprofit outreach, Reese is passionate about giving back to the community that raised him. He looks forward to building meaningful relationships with donors and community partners while helping share the stories and impact that make Greene County special. Get to know Reese, learn more about what brought him to Greene Giving, and discover what he hopes to accomplish in his new role.

Q: Can you share a little about your background and what led you to Greene Giving?

I grew up here in Xenia and went to school in Dayton, so Greene County has always been my home. I grew up playing a lot of sports, which is how I’d met Andrew Saraga back in grade school. He had recommended that I introduce myself to Jeff, as he was close to leaving to pursue his law degree.

Q: What drew you to this position and to the work of community philanthropy?

I had an early introduction to the non-profit sphere, primarily at BOGG Ministries. The idea of providing meals to communities in need was something so simple, yet inspiring for me, that I knew I wanted to pursue a career involving community outreach. I graduated from Wittenberg with a degree in Marketing, and knowing I wanted to start someplace small for a more rounded experience, I was fortunate enough to find my niche at Greene Giving and give back to the place that raised me.

Q: What does a typical day look like in your new role?

Every day comes with its own excitement and challenges! I could be helping Max with the creation of our new scholarship portal, creating content for our partners with Ryann, or assisting anyone who walks in the front!

Q: How do you hope to connect with donors and partners in your new role?

One of our favorite sayings at Greene Giving is “help us help you”. This encourages our partners to connect with us through consistent communication. We hope that anyone we work with feels comfortable deferring to us to anything that comes to their door, from applying for grants to social media. That transparency and inclusivity are the kind of relationship I hope to gain with our partners!

Q: What are you most excited about helping tell Greene Giving’s story?

Every scholarship, donation, and partnership has a story. Each mission, check, and letter is influenced by a person or group that is leaving a legacy. There is intent behind every action. Greene Giving is the same and has been providing help to the community for longer than I’ve been alive. I want to help continue that legacy and have Greene Giving remain long after I’ve left.

Q: Are there any upcoming initiatives or projects you’re especially excited to work on?

As we are closing the year, the holidays come hand-in-hand with consideration and generosity. We are currently preparing for Giving Tuesday and bolstering our Donation Page, finalizing our Scholarship Portal, and updating our social media with video media! Stay tuned for our upcoming Partner Testimonials, found on our Facebook and YouTube!

Q: What inspires you about Greene County or the communities we serve?

Greene County has such a rich history, and while it may not always be the biggest or brightest, the people we work with are always trying to make our home better for the future!

Q: How do you like to spend your time outside of work?

I’ve always been wrapped up in sports, but I also want to travel more, so you can usually find me playing in a tournament out of town!
